It was a sad afternoon today saying goodbye to Mrs Nash. Mrs Nash has played a huge role in our Kindergarten classes over the past few years and we appreciate all of the care and love she has shown us. We sang her her favourite song ❤️ and wished her all the very best in her move to her new town down south.

Last week your child may have mentioned that we heard a loooooooong bell and had to get down under the tables. Yes, we did! We had a ‘lock down’ drill so that we all know what to do should such an emergency arise. The students were so wonderful at listening carefully and following directions, and waited ever so patiently under the tables for the drill to finish. Well done Kindy!
KW enjoyed their STEM time today which tied into our current sound “rrrrrrrrr”. We listened to a story about a robot named Clink then made our own robots! The students were ever so creative, problem solving their own types of robots with recycled materials, with no set criteria. Check some of them out below... Fast maths Friday this week saw the children practising counting on in the Domino Car Park, counters addition, outside with Mr West and on the iPad app Targeting Maths. Counting on is a strategy used when adding two numbers - starting with the largest number and continuing to count forward, rather than starting from one. The children also practised writing numerals and forming equal groups.
Congratulations to these lovely recipients who will receive their bronze awards at the whole school assembly on Thursday next week at 12:40pm.
Congratulations to this week’s award winners!
Congratulations to this week’s soon to be Bronze award winners!
Mmmmmessy mud play today was absolutely mmmmmarvellous! To coincide with our sound of the week, it was lovely to bring the outdoors in on this rainy day and let the kids have some sensory, messy mud play. This type of play is really important for our kiddos - please try to make some room for sensory play at home, whether it be mud, shaving cream, finger paint, oobleck, cracking eggs, rice or pasta or legume play (uncooked), play dough, kinetic sand- so many options! I think you’d be glad you weren’t cleaning this up today 🤪 but the joy and sensory stimulation was totally worth it! Thank you to all of you amazing mums, aunties, grandmothers and guardians. You do an amazing job and your children just want to say “I love you”. None of us would be here if it wasn’t for you!
Happy Mother’s Day! |
